Our services
We handle the full range of tax and accounting services for businesses at every growth stage. Whatever your situation, we'll make sure it's done properly. Read more about our small business accountants, Perth bookkeeping service and Perth tax accountants.
We prepare and lodge tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders. Before we lodge, we check the structure still makes sense, look at where deductions might have been missed, and flag anything to plan for next year. You get a plain-English summary of the result and what it means for the business.
Quarterly and monthly BAS and IAS handled to deadline. We reconcile your accounts, check GST coding, prepare the statement, and lodge it with the ATO. If there's a refund coming, we chase it. If there's a debt, we let you know with enough notice to plan for it.
We set up Xero properly from day one, or take over a file that's been left in a state. Bank feeds, chart of accounts, GST coding, payroll, and reporting templates. Once it's running clean, we keep it that way with weekly or monthly reconciliation, so your numbers are ready when you need them.
Single Touch Payroll, super, leave entitlements, and award interpretation, set up and run so you're not chasing it every pay run. We handle the lodgements, the year-end finalisations, and the awkward questions about long service leave or termination pay when they come up.
The right structure protects your assets, manages tax efficiently, and gives you room to grow without a costly restructure later. We talk through sole trader, company, trust, partnership, and hybrid options, then set up whatever fits. For existing businesses, we review what you've got and recommend changes only if they're worth making.
The compliance work that keeps your company in good standing with ASIC. Annual reviews, registered office, Director ID coordination, share transfers, and the paperwork most owners forget about until something needs lodging. We hold the file and handle the lodgements.
Cars, entertainment, expense reimbursements, and the items the ATO is most likely to query. We work out what counts as a fringe benefit, calculate the FBT correctly, and identify the exemptions and reductions you're entitled to claim. The FBT year ends 31 March, so planning starts well before then.
The conversations that don't fit inside an annual return. Buying or selling a business, restructuring, partner buy-ins, debt vs equity decisions, and the strategic questions that come up as the business grows. We bring tax and accounting context to the decision, and work with your lawyer or broker on the rest.
A monthly or quarterly forecast that tells you what's coming, when, and where the pressure points are. Useful for businesses with seasonal revenue, growth plans that need funding, or owners who want to take a wage and don't know if the business can support it.
Self-managed super fund accounting, compliance, and the annual audit coordination. We prepare the financials, lodge the SMSF annual return, organise the independent audit, and keep the fund compliant with super law. Limited recourse borrowing arrangements and bare trust property purchases handled in-house.
If the ATO has written to you, called, or opened a review, we handle the correspondence. Most reviews can be resolved without escalating to a full audit if the response is prepared properly the first time. We respond on your behalf, prepare the substantiation, and negotiate any adjustment or payment plan if one is needed.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions from business owners across Perth and Australia.
Mostly small to medium businesses across a wide range of industries. Tradies, hospitality operators, retail businesses, real estate professionals, craft breweries, trust holders, and companies at various stages from brand new startups through to established businesses thinking about succession or exit. If you run a business and need an accountant who understands how it operates, we're worth a conversation.
More than just your annual tax return. We handle company returns and compliance, BAS and IAS lodgements, bookkeeping, financial accounts preparation, payroll, and corporate secretarial support. On the advisory side we work with business owners on tax planning, restructuring, software setup, and succession planning. Most of our business clients are on a fixed-fee care package so they know exactly what they're getting and what it costs before anything starts.
It's actually the best time. Getting your structure right from the start saves a lot of expensive fixing later. Sole trader, company, trust or something else entirely: the decision has tax and legal implications that are much easier to plan for upfront than to unwind after the fact. We work with new businesses on start-up structuring, software setup, and making sure the foundations are solid before things get complicated.
Xero is our preference, but we also work with MYOB and QuickBooks. If you're not on any cloud-based software yet, we can help you choose the right one for your business and get it set up properly. If you're already using something and it's a mess, we can sort that out too.
A Business Activity Statement is how you report and pay GST, PAYG withholding, and other tax obligations to the ATO. If your business is registered for GST, you'll need to lodge one, either monthly or quarterly depending on your situation. Missing a BAS lodgement or getting it wrong can attract penalties and interest. We handle BAS preparation and lodgement for our business clients as part of their ongoing service.
Yes. Whether it's a formal audit, a review, or a request to substantiate something in a previous lodgement, we handle the ATO correspondence on your behalf. We know what they're looking for, how to respond, and how to resolve it as efficiently as possible. If you've received something from the ATO and you're not sure what it means, get in touch before you respond.
Yes. Succession and exit planning is something we work through with business owners well before a sale or transition happens. The tax implications of selling a business, transferring ownership, or winding things down are significant, and the timing of decisions matters. The earlier we're involved the more options you have. If it's something you're starting to think about, even loosely, it's worth a conversation now rather than later.
It's straightforward. You let us know you want to move across, we contact your previous accountant on your behalf to request your files and business history, and we take it from there. You don't need to manage the handover yourself. Once we have everything we need, we get you set up and you'll be ready to go. Most businesses find the switch is much less disruptive than they expected.
No need to be in Perth. We work with businesses all over Australia via video call, email, and cloud-based accounting tools. If you're local and prefer to come in, we're in Balcatta with free on-site parking. Either way, the service is the same.
What business owners say
100+ five-star Google reviews. The common themes from business clients: fixed pricing they can budget, advice before the financial year ends rather than after, and a team that picks up the phone.

"Ben De Rosa at Aevum Accounting has been our family and small business accountant for about six or seven years now, and I honestly cannot recommend him enough. He has supported us through every big milestone along the way, and I am really grateful for that. On top of that, Aevum’s modern systems make tax time so much easier. Everything is streamlined, there is way less back and forth, and it just makes the whole process feel painless. Such a great experience all round."
